Josh Nitz
Dental Assistant

Josh met Dr. Irelan in early 2016 after being referred by his mother who had seen Dr. Irelan for an emergency. Josh had a traumatic sports injury as a child involving his front teeth and the time was right to proceed with a more permanent solution. The superior care and results provided him were enough to form a friendship with Dr. Irelan that would soon lead to a desire to join him in the dental field to assist in providing the same quality of care he received.
Being a self-taught watchmaker and former aerospace welder, Josh understands the necessity for precision and how the mechanical aspects of previous professions translate well into the dental field. Knowing that root canal therapy can be an unnerving thought for many people, he provides excellent chair-side manner and understanding that will ease the worries a patient may have. Josh is pleased to be assisting not only an endodontist that provides state of the art dental care, but his best friend that can hopefully prove to you that root canal therapy can be a pleasant dental experience. In his free time, Josh enjoys scuba diving, motorcycles, metal detecting, and visiting his family in Wisconsin.

Maci Pewitt
Dental Assistant
As a proud third-generation Franklin native, I love serving the community I’ve always called home. I have worked in dentistry for seven years and earned my Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification after completing my education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. My favorite part of dentistry is building personal connections with my patients and helping those with dental anxiety feel comfortable, cared for, and confident throughout their visit. Creating a positive experience and helping patients achieve healthy and confident smiles is what I enjoy most.
Outside of the office, I’m a proud dog mom to my rescue, Autumn, and a lifelong animal lover. I love traveling, trying new restaurants, singing karaoke, and spending time on the river. Whether I’m kayaking or whitewater rafting, I’m always up for an adventure. In the fall, you’ll often find me cheering on my favorite football teams with my family. I feel incredibly grateful to live and work in the community I’ve called home my entire life and look forward to caring for my neighbors for years to come.
